Kurayoshi Sherry Cask

A sweet aroma of berries and chocolate comes from whisky aged in oak casks for over 3 years and then finished in sherry casks. It is complimented by a citrus-tart taste like lemon grass. It has a balanced aroma, and the palate is smooth with a lingering finish. It is very soft and recommended for all palates.

Kurayoshi 8yr

This whisky is aged in white oak ex-bourbon barrels for over 8 years removing any unpleasant flavors and causing the whisky to become ripe and complex in flavor. The malt aromas and sweet refreshing fruit notes remind one of pale golden and dry orange colors. The palate is sweet and stands out with fragrances of vanilla and nuts. The mouth-feel is very soft.

Kurayoshi 8yr Sherry Cask

Matured in oak casks and finished in fresh sherry casks, this whisky has sweet and mature aromas including raisins, pears, biscuits and cookies created by over 8 years of aging. The sherry casks add a toasty warm quality to the whisky as well as a rich whisky-cask fragrance that is gorgeous and refreshing.

Ohishi Sakura Cask

Ohishi Sherry and Brandy casks that are finished in locally grown, new Sakura (Cherry Blossom) Casks for over 1 year. This extra aging rounds out the final product, taming some of the sweetness of the sherry, and rounding out the edges that can pop out in rice whiskey.

Fun fact: they use a method of organic farming that involves using koi fish to control the weeds in the rice paddy fields.

Ohishi Port Cask

Ohishi Sherry and Brandy casks that are finished in old Port Casks Casks for over 1 year.

Allocated 867 bottles limited for this release. Tasting notes include: Hints of chocolate and port wine. This was a test batch that turned out way better than expected.

Ohishi Tokubetsu Reserve

This whisky is a very special release of equal parts 27yr ,10yr, and 7yr old Ohishi Whisky Sherry Casks. This release was limited to fewer than 1500 bottles worldwide.

Sherry, complex dark fruit, butterscotch, spice, graham crackers, ash, citrus, toffee and light notes of rice sweetness, cocoa, cinnamon and oak.
